The Marantz PMD 671 Advanced Concert MOD keeps the line input intact but removes the built in mic, DL mono, filters and limiter/ALC circuit. This circuit change along with parts upgrade significantly reduces the mic preamp hiss. It also uses very fast, very low distortion chips for the mic preamps as well as ultra high quality input capacitors. The result is a level of speed, detail and transparency that far exceeds that of the stock machine. The gain range on the mic preamps is -36dB to +4dB, a range of -50dB to -10dB with the ALC/limiter intact is available upon request.
