How do I set up my microphones for a stereo recording ?
Binaural "Dummy Head" technique

    Zoom in on...
    Dummy Head Binaural Recording
This method uses Omnidirectional microphones placed as close to the ears as practical. It is intended to replicate the complex patterns we process to hear sound in three dimensions. This image also demonstrates how to use an O ring to attach the Oade Brothers Audio Micro Mics to a pair of glasses, when the recording engineer wishes to use his/ her own head to hold the microphones. Both techniques produce what is known as a Binaural recording. This type of recording is best suited to playback on headphones where it yields very impressive results. send feed: Send
